Fly Free Katrine

Katrine was so young, so full of life. The news of her untimely passing hit the coloring community hard. We never met, the only interaction we had was “liking” each other’s coloring art. A few encouraging comments or brief chats on instagram direct message were pretty much the extend of our “friendship”. We were, however, all touched by her warm, cheerful voice in her live stream. Her legacy lives on in all the YouTube videos where she shared her coloring skills and tips, and will continue to inspire colorist for years to come. Her favorite coloring book was Daydreams by Hanna Karlzon and she mentioned something about wanting to finish coloring the book in 2018. Sadly she wouldn’t be able to do that, there are a few color along hosted by her coloring friends to help her accomplish that goal. As I flipped through this book, this illustration of a girl riding a bird touched me as the most fitting tribute to Katrine. I named it “Fly Free” in loving memory of Katrine (@alwayscoloring). Heaven is now more beautiful because you’re coloring with all the angels.
